Information on the Golf Pull cart !!!
We have looked at everything to do with golf bags, the different types and their purposes. Now let’s look at one more area with your golf bag. There are 3 ways to get you and your golf bag around the golf course. You can ride a golf cart which will take you and your golf bags around the golf course.
You can walk and carry your golf bag or you can walk and pull your golf bag around with you on a Golf Pull Cart, also referred to as a Golf Push Cart. Let’s look at what a golf pull/push cart is and what is the best golf pull/push cart for you.
What is the difference between a Pull Cart and Push Cart?
A Golf Pull Cart is a cart with 2 wheels and the Push Cart is the cart with 3 wheels. The name comes from the direction that you use the cart. Push Carts you push in front of you, thus the reason for the third wheel. The third wheel makes it easy to push in front of you. The Pull Cart only has 2 wheels thus making it easier to pull behind you rather than push in front of you. It is really a matter of preference to push or pull. My preference has always been to pull and I have had both types of carts. But this is your choice. You should know that you can use a Push Cart to push or pull with no problem. The pull cart should only be used to pull. It is a little more difficult to use the pull cart to push.

Pull Carts are an excellent choice for anyone who wants the exercise of walking and playing golf but not the extra added strain of carrying your bag and all the golf clubs. Pull carts are easy to pull and fold up and fit in your trunk when you are not using them. The golf pull cart you need depends on the amount of golf that you play. If you play a lot of golf, at least once or twice a week, then you will need a very sturdy pull cart. If you play golf maybe once a month or so, then you most likely will not need the sturdy pull cart. The biggest difference between the two types of pull carts is the price and the durability. A good sturdy pull cart will most likely cost you at least twice as much but the price is well worth it if you play a lot of golf. There is nothing worse than having your pull cart break down while you are in the middle of a round of golf.
How do you tell what is a good sturdy golf pull cart?
The best way to tell a good sturdy golf pull cart is not to be impressed by all the gadgets they include on the cart, but look at what the pull cart is made of. Look to see if the cart is made of mainly metal or plastic. The 2 areas that will give you the most trouble on a pull/push cart are the wheels and the area where the bag is strapped to the top of the cart. These are the 2 pressure points on the cart that require to be made of the strongest material.
First look at the tubing the cart is made of. If it is metal is it solid or weak metal. It doesn’t have to be heavy to be strong or solid. The better golf pull carts will be made of solid aluminum tubing.
Second look at the wheels. This is the number one pressure point on the cart. If the wheels are made of poor material then this will definitely be the first area to give you trouble. The casing of the wheel around the axel needs to be made of some type of strong metal opposed to plastic.
Third area to look at is the material that the bag is strapped onto the cart. Both the top and bottom area should be of strong material. The top is a must to be strong. This area is the second pressure point on a golf pull cart. The bouncing around of pulling the cart up and down and in all positions put extra pressure on this point of your golf pull cart.
If you find a pull cart that has all these 3 pints covered then you have definitely found a golf pull cart that will be reliable and very durable. Of course we all love some of the great features they have added to some of the golf pull carts, such as scorecard holders, odometers, cup holders, hand brakes, but just remember that these accessories don’t really make a pull cart reliable and durable.
If you don’t play all that much golf and you don’t need this type of pull cart then there are many made of less quality that will be just right for you and you won’t have to spend more than 50 dollars.
