This links style course has open, fairly flat fairways. The greens are of medium size and speed, and vary in undulation. Although constructed on a White River flood plain, several raised tees will allow elevation changes from 50 to 70 feet on some holes. 3 sets of tees are available to challenge a variety of handicaps.

This facility has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. The courses are best described as being part links-style and part Southern-style design. The greens keeper planted 250 additional pine trees in 1997 to enhance the scenery and provide more obstacles. The courses were built on flat terrain and feature three lakes, five creeks, and 135 crushed limestone bunkers. Every green is elevated.

This course is on rolling terrain. Water comes into play on more than one-fourth of the holes. The greens are moderate in size and have some undulation. All greens are protected by sand bunkers. The signature hole is 2, a 319-yard, par 4, which has a massive oak tree in the middle of the fairway. This is the first course that Pete Dye built as a professional architect.
