This course was built on hilly terrain, so you can expect many uneven lies. Water hazards come into play on several holes, and the large trees which line the fairways can alter your shots. The signature hole is 3, a 410-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg left fairway, then an approach shot to a small, well-bunkered green.

This luscious course is located on 300 acres of rolling hills terrain. The greens are average in size, but offer a stiff challenge. The fairways are generally wide, some are open, while others are tree lined. There is an abundance of fairway real estate. The signature hole is 12, a 203-yard, par 3, which requires hitting downhill into a trade wind and over a water hazard. The green is not deep, but it is wide and well bunkered. Overall the course is very user friendly, satisfying the competitive desires from novice to the advanced amateur.

This semi-hilly course has many trees on the front nine but only a few on the back nine. Water hazards come into play on some holes, and numerous sand bunkers have been incorporated into the course design. The sand bunkers mainly come into play on the fairways, but not around the greens.

The signature hole is 15, a 222-yard, par 3, which calls for a tee shot over water.

Constructed on 218 acres, the course claims to be the (longest non-mountain par 72 in the world), if played from the back tees. There are over 120 bunkers on the course to challenge golfers, hence the club’s name, Purgatory. Although best suited for the experienced high handicap or scratch golfer, Purgatory will reward proper club selection and the ability to get out of the sand.
