Among the many family oriented events held in Kalkaska are the annual National Trout Festival, which corresponds with the opening of trout fishing the last Saturday in April, and the annual WinterFest (held in January) featuring sleddog competitions. There is a County Fair held every August, as well. Motocross, snowmobile and horseback enthusiasts will find numerous trails that wind their way through the county. Boasting panoramic views of rolling meadowland, this club has something to offer golfers of all abilities. The mildly undulating greens are generously sized, giving players the opportunity to test their stroke on the velvety soft surface. Some of the contoured fairways feature narrow landing areas, which presents a pleasant challenge.

The greens are somewhat small and fairly fast. The fairways are tight so you must hit your tee shot straight. There are three ponds in play and the Boardman River runs through the course. The course is short and challenging.
