This resort course's back nine is younger than its front nine. The back nine is longer than the original nine and was cut through a wooded area. After completing hole 9, you will take a horse and carriage ride over to the tee box on 10, which is approximately 1.25 miles away. The greens are smaller on the front nine, and water hazards come into play on nine holes.

This course is situated 34 miles north and east of the Straits of Mackinaw off Upper Lake Huron. The layout has already earned a reputation as a (feel-good) course. The contoured, mid-sized greens are always well-maintained, and the gently rolling fairways make for an enjoyable experience.

This links-style course features a lot of tall rough bordering its fairways. In addition, many rocks and mounds also come into play on the tree-lined fairways. There is one water channel on the course, but it does not come into play. The greens are large and somewhat sloped.

This course's fairways are wide but lined with trees. Water hazards (a creek) come into play on only two holes. In addition, numerous sand bunkers have been positioned throughout the course. This course provides some outstanding vistas of the surrounding area. All the greens break toward the Straits of Mackinac.

This course is located on the historical island of Mackinac. The designer of the course, Alex Smith, came from Carnoustie, Scotland. The course is like a Scottish links design. The fairways are average width, and the greens are small. The gently rolling terrain makes walking comfortable.
