This traditionally styled course has elevated tees, and its large greens are fast. In addition, there are numerous trees that can alter your shots. The extremely well-bunkered greens are medium-sized and undulating. The front nine offers spectacular elevation changes from tee to green while the back nine winds its way through the dense hardwoods and the natural sand dunes of the west Michigan shoreline.

This course has small greens, and its flat fairways are narrow. Plus, there is a river that runs throughout its entire design which come into play on ten holes. The fairways are narrow and tree lined, and the greens are small and medium speed. There is not a lot of sand to contend with, however the sand bunkers that are present are difficult to escape from.
