This course was originally constructed as 9-holes. Two holes were added in the 1960's and the course was played as a unique eighteen hole course. The front nine would be played like any other nine, but when repeating the nine a second time, the golfer would play a different hole 6 and 7.

The front and back nines were built in different decades. The first six holes are more open and forgiving, while hole 7 introduces the golfer to what lies ahead on the back nine. Club selection off the tee becomes more important as you progress through the final holes. Its design allows you to use every club in your bag. From your first shot on 1 to your last shot on 18, you'll find one of the most beautiful, natural Michigan golf courses that challenges every golfer regardless of skill level.

This course's slightly-sloped greens are fast, and a couple of them are undulating. The wide fairways have some sand bunkers plus there is a creek coming into play several times. This is an excellent location for beginning golfers or experienced ones who wish to work on their short game.

This links-style course has four waste bunkers to contend with, one of which is 380 yards long, outlining parts of hole 8 and 3. The greens on this course are massive, and there is also three large ponds that could also intimidate the weak-hearted.
