Ohio Golf Courses We realize that you cant get to know a community just by reading about it. To know Clark County is to experience it first-hand. You will find a great location, supportive neighbors, competitive costs and a spirited community committed to a long-range vision for the future. The best description of Clark County is a place where small town atmosphere mixes with big city amenities. From quiet, friendly tree-lined streets and a 10-minute drive to any place in town, to a symphony, many nice and challenging Ohio golf courses, live theater, arts programs and a major university, citizens enjoy a comfortable lifestyle here.

The nearby city of Cincinnati has two very popular professional teams. They are the Cincinnati Reds baseball and the Cincinnati Bengals football teams. The location is less than two hours south on I-75. A new semi-pro baseball team for the Cincinnati Reds, the Dayton Dragons, started their season in the Spring of 2000. Dayton is 25 minutes to the West. The semi-pro baseball team for the New York Yankees, the Columbus Clippers, can be seen in Columbus, about 40 miles East. As you can see, the quality and quantity of recreational opportunities in the Springfield area are offered to everyone, an ever-growing host of activities to keep the spirit content and body in peak condition. Also found in this area are country clubs, Ohio golf courses, bowling lanes, health spas, roller skating, canoeing, cliff-climbing, skiing, running paths in the parks, and, in appropriate weather, ice-skating.

Season: March 1 thru October 31

Ohio Golf Courses Comments:
This short course was built on hilly terrain, so expect some uneven lies. Golfers are required to tee off from artificial mats, and the fairways are narrow. Water hazards (ponds and a creek) come into play on four holes. The signature hole is 8, a 108-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot from off an elevated tee over water to an elevated green. Ladies tee off from the same set of tees as the men.

Ohio Golf Courses Comments:
This club has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. A father's dream became reality when his two sons, John and Richard Kitchen, turned a seed-corn farm into a nine hole golf course in 1966. Five years later, in 1971, the boys added another nine holes and in 1978 a third nine was added. There is enough variety of play on these Ohio golf courses to challenge any level of player. The White Course plays long and was built on slightly rolling terrain. All the courses have large greens, and four lakes come into play on a few select holes.

Ohio Golf Courses Comments:
This well-maintained course has small greens and many mature trees lining its fairways. The terrain is predominantly flat and easy to walk. In addition, water hazards come into play on five holes. One interesting characteristic to this course is that it was designed by a few of the clubs charter members. One of the better Ohio golf courses.

Reid Memorial Park Golf Course

Ohio Golf Courses Comments:
This facility has two regulation eighteen hole Ohio golf courses. The North Course is very difficult because of the hills, trees, and sand bunkers coming into play. The North Course was rated as one of the top public courses in the area by the local pros. The South Course is flat and has no water hazards or sand bunkers.

Ohio Golf Courses Comments:
This short, narrow course has tree-lined fairways and small greens that are well-bunkered. Water hazards come into play on two holes, including 6, which has two small ponds to the right of the landing area. The other hole with water in play is 15, a 357-yard, par 4, which has a pond sitting in front of the tee boxes and two others to the right of the landing area.

Par: 72
Rating: 72.1
Slope: 133
Status: Private
Season: Open All Year

Ohio Golf Courses Comments:
Another of the many Ohio golf courses, built on a series of rolling hills, features well-bunkered greens that are small and sloped. The narrow fairways are tree lined and well protected by sand bunkers. The signature hole is 4, a 433-yard, par 4, requiring a straightaway tee shot over a creek, then an uphill approach shot to a sloped green with a sand bunker guarding its left side. Almost all the greens are severely undulating and difficult to read.
