This course features a hilly front nine like the many of the Ohio golf courses, that is difficult to walk and a flat back nine. Water hazards come into play on a couple of holes.

This semi-hilly course has trees lining all its fairways. Numerous grass bunkers protect the greens. The greens are small and circular, and a stream and a lake come into play on a number of holes. The signature hole is 7, a 378-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot that must be laid up short of a small ravine. There are additional sets of tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round. Another one of those Ohio golf courses that you must play the same 9 holes twice to have an 18 hole round.

This course was built on rolling terrain and sits next to the second largest lake in Ohio, Rocky Fork Lake. The front nine is more wide open than the back nine. Hole 17, a 406-yard, par 4, features the oldest tulip poplar grove in the county. The club has once hosted an Oldsmobile qualifier. This is the best of the Ohio golf courses in Highland County.
