This shot placement course is easy to walk. Water hazards (a stream and three ponds) come into play on many holes. The signature hole is 6, a 348-yard, par 4, requiring the golfer to avoid hitting into the creek which flows down the left side of the dogleg left fairway.

This course is wide open and fairly flat which is very unusual for Ohio golf courses, ideal for the average golfer. The fairways are tree lined, and water hazards come into play on seven holes. The greens are medium-sized and medium to fast in speed, depending on the seasonal weather conditions.

Ohio Golf Courses Comments:
Clover Valley Golf Club is located a short drive northwest of Columbus. The front nine opened for play August 2001 and the remaining nine is scheduled to open March 2002. This 18-hole par 72 course is designed by the local firm of CCC Designs, and is a mix of parkland and links-style holes. The gently rolling fairways, which is very typical for Ohio golf courses are tree-lined but wide. The medium-sized greens average 5,500 square feet and are gently undulating and moderate in speed. Clover Valley plays from 5,500 to 7,151-yards and offers four sets of tees to challenge all skill levels. Water comes into play on at least five holes in the form of lakes and a creek.

This like so many Ohio golf courses is built on gently-rolling terrain and features two distinct styles. The front nine was built on farmland and is characterized by wide fairways and open play. The back nine plays through undisturbed swampland, offering a tighter, links-style feel. The most demanding hole is 6, a 200-yard, par 3, featuring water from the tee to the well-bunkered three-quarter island green.

This somewhat hilly course is easy to walk. The fairways are narrow, and the greens are small. The signature hole is 8, a 447-yard, par 5, requiring a tee shot up a narrow dogleg left fairway. This is one of the many nice Ohio golf courses you will find in Licking County.

This course was built on rolling hills like so many Ohio golf courses, so expect many uneven lies. The greens are small, and the fairways are narrow. The signature hole is 18, a 370-yard, par 4, featuring a tee box located approximately 300 feet above the fairway. Water hazards come into play a minimum of five separate occasions.

This wide-open course plays longer than it looks. There is one large creek that comes into play on four holes, and the average-sized greens can be difficult to read at times. The signature hole is 7, a 125-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over a lake.

The short course is so hilly it won't provide any level lies in its fairways. However, the tree-lined fairways do offer generous landing areas and vistas of the surrounding countryside. The small greens are undulating, well protected by sand bunkers, and medium to fast in speed, depending on the seasonal weather conditions. Water hazards come into play on four holes. The toughest hole is 3, a 511 yard, par 5, which plays from an elevated tee with woods on the right, out-of-bounds on the left and a ravine and a creek within the holes design. This is one of the many scenic Ohio golf courses.

This hilly course offers no level lies in the fairways and several blind shots. The greens are very fast, and a natural spring comes into play on a few holes. The front nine is challenging but fair, while the back nine is challenging and difficult. There are practice chipping greens available around the clubhouse. Here is another of the many Ohio golf courses that try to stay open all year.

The fairways on this course are rolling and quite narrow. Half of the holes are cut into mature woods. The greens are large sized and very fast, a few of them are double tiered. This is one of over 15 Ohio golf courses located in Licking County, the third highest point in the state. There is a winery butting up against the course.

This eighteen hole course is situated on scenic rolling hills. There are ravines, valleys and elevation changes up to 100 feet throughout the layout. The facility is very forested. Fairways are not traditionally tree lined, however, tree vegetation is plentiful. Despite the abundance of trees, fairway play is very accommodating with generous landing areas. Second shots on this course prove to be as challenging as any golfer will find. There is no signature hole. Club staff describes this course as (having eighteen golf holes that would be signature holes elsewhere). This course was one of five worldwide courses chosen in 1999 to participate in the Shell Oil Company/Jack Nicklaus production of (The Wonderful World of Golf). This is most likely the best of the public Ohio golf courses in Licking County.

This unique course was built on and around ancient Indian ceremonial mounds, thought to be thousands of years old. The terrain is rolling, and the narrow fairways are tree lined and well-bunkered are so very typical of Ohio golf courses. The average-sized greens are fast and well-protected by sand bunkers.

This course is the home of the longest par 5 in the State of Ohio. Hole 17 will challenge even the longest hitters, as it plays a massive 660 yards off the back tee. The course terrain is relatively flat and open, however, the greens do feature a decent amount of undulation.

According to the locals, this is a (must play) course. Hole 5 has an island green and was rated in the top ten for difficulty by the Columbus Dispatch. This course is only two years old, built on somewhat hilly terrain, the tree-lined fairways are narrow to medium in size. Water hazards come into play on twelve holes. The greens are small, undulating and have medium speed.
