Ohio Golf Courses Portage County Conveniently located in Northeast Ohio’s educational and recreational heartland and great Ohio golf courses, Portage County features a robust economy, a rural small town environment and all the amenities of Northeast Ohio within a one-hour drive. This course was built on hilly terrain which is typical of Ohio golf courses and has narrow fairways that are lined with many out-of-bounds stakes. The greens are large and sloping. The most difficult hole on the course is 15, a 433-yard, par 4, requiring an uphill approach shot to an elevated green.

This Ohio golf courses design includes wide, tree-lined fairways, and there are many sand bunkers throughout its design. The greens are large in size, allowing room for error on approach shots. Water hazards come into play at least six times. Golf Digest rated this as the 12th Best in State of Ohio golf courses for 1995-96, and 13th best in 1997-98.

Ohio Golf Courses Comments:
Boulder Creek Golf Club is located just north of Akron, Ohio and boasts a championship eighteen hole track named for the many naturally occurring boulders incorporated into the course's design. Boulder Creek opened for play June 2002 and features a mixture of design styles. The artfully sculpted fairways offer many beautiful views of the surrounding terrain, and the greens are challenging to putt. Notable holes include a split fairway par 5 and an island green on 17. There are many trees throughout the design, and ample water and bunkering to challenge play. This is one of the better Ohio golf courses in Portage County, Ohio.

This course provides some very long and difficult par 3s. All levels of golfer will enjoy this course. Built on gently rolling terrain which is normal for Ohio golf courses, the fairways are wide and tree lined. There are water hazards that come into play on four holes. The average-sized greens are well protected by sand bunkers, very fast and slightly sloped.

This complex offers two eighteen hole courses. The East Course was built on flat terrain and features narrow fairways and some bunkers, but there is no water in play. The West Course is seasonal and has wide-open fairways and many trees that can alter your shots. Water hazards come into play on at least four holes. This is another of the many Ohio golf courses that stay open all year.

This scenic course was built on hilly terrain and has water hazards (lakes) coming into play on several holes. There aren't any sand bunkers on this course, but there are numerous grass bunkers. Trees are not a major factor while playing here, however, all the fairways are defined by a standard cut of rough. The extra-large greens vary in undulation, and some of them (as well as some tee boxes) are elevated.

This is one of many Ohio golf courses that can be challenging for all levels. Two large lakes come into play at least twice during the round.
